Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Protective Coveralls

Protective coveralls help reduce exposure to dust, dirt, light splashes and workplace contaminants across cleaning, food processing, manufacturing, maintenance and industrial environments. Insinc’s range includes lightweight polypropylene coveralls, SMS Type 5 and 6 coveralls, biohazard coveralls, chemical protection suits and high-visibility rainwear.

Sizes range from Small through to 6XL on selected products, helping workplaces choose protective clothing that allows suitable coverage and movement.

Which Type of Coverall Should You Choose?

Lightweight spunbond polypropylene coveralls suit lower-risk tasks where basic protection from dust, dirt and general workplace contamination is required. SMS coveralls provide another disposable option, with selected Type 5 and 6 products available in white, blue and orange. The Matthews range includes breathable 50gsm SMS coveralls in several sizes.

For more specialised applications, the range includes TITAN 380 biohazard Type 5 and 6 coveralls and TITAN 460 chemical protection suits rated for Types 3, 4 and 5. Green dual-zip chemical spray suits are also available in larger sizes.

Coveralls, Chemical Suits or Rainwear?

Disposable coveralls are generally suited to contamination control and short-duration protective tasks. Chemical suits are intended for more demanding applications, but the correct garment must always be selected according to the specific substance, exposure type and manufacturer’s protection rating.

Good2Glow neon orange and neon yellow rain suits include separate jackets and trousers for wet-weather work and visibility. These should not be treated as substitutes for certified chemical or biohazard protection.

Before ordering, check the required protection type, material, size and workplace risk assessment. Coveralls should be worn with any additional PPE required for the task, including gloves, respirators, eye protection and protective footwear.
