Disinfectant / Sanitiser

Buyer’s Guide to Choosing Disinfectants and Sanitisers

Disinfectants and sanitisers help reduce harmful microorganisms on hard surfaces in healthcare facilities, food preparation areas, salons, workplaces, schools and other commercial environments. Insinc’s range includes hospital-grade disinfectants, food preparation sanitisers, barber disinfectants, bleach, hypochlorite solutions and biodegradable disinfectant cleaners.

Ready-to-use sprays are convenient for smaller areas and frequent cleaning, while concentrated 1-litre, 5-litre and 20-litre products are better suited to high-use facilities. Some concentrated products require dilution before application, so always follow the instructions on the label.

What Is the Difference Between a Disinfectant and a Sanitiser?

A sanitiser reduces microorganisms to a level considered suitable for its intended application. A disinfectant is formulated to kill a broader range of microorganisms on approved surfaces.

The correct choice depends on the environment, the surface and the level of hygiene required. High-level hospital disinfectants are intended for specialist applications, while food preparation sanitisers should be selected for approved use on food-contact surfaces.

Which Disinfectant Should You Choose?

Choose a hospital-grade product for healthcare and other high-risk environments where this standard is required. Food preparation sanitisers are suited to commercial kitchens and food-processing areas when used according to their label directions.

Barber disinfectants are designed for compatible salon and grooming tools. Bleach and concentrated hypochlorite solutions may suit heavy-duty sanitation tasks but require careful dilution, handling and storage.

Always observe the required contact time and surface compatibility. Never mix bleach or hypochlorite products with acids, ammonia or other cleaning chemicals.
